Was Jesus a Socialist?

Was Jesus a Socialist?
From Matthew 25:
…35For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, 36I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink?, 38When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick or in prison and visit You?’ 40And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’
Some will read this passage and argue that were Jesus alive today he would be a socialist, and still others will argue that he would be an advocate for socialism.

What do you think?

There are numerous scriptures that indicate Christianity had a lot of Socialist overtones but this scripture is normally not grouped into that category.

The one religion that had tremendous Socialist overtones was the Jewish religion, that is, if they had implemented the Law as it was given to them. The facet of the Law that seemed to be 'ignored' was the part dealing with the Jubilees. That Law is the basic of our Bankruptcy Laws today. The Jubilees, if implemented, were extremely progressive and if implemented by any Government today, would be beyond any form of Progression thought/practice in existent today.

Not arguing but yes I think He was.

Acts 2: 42-47

" 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. "

Being a socialist then, would he also be an Act-ivist ?
That is to say, do you suppose he would be active in advocating for the adoption of socialism as our economic system?

.

I don't know what He would do but according to the JW's the ' Second Coming ' is nigh so you won't have to wait long to find out.... then you won't have to ask silly questions.

I won't be able to ask silly questions?
How will I find out all the silly answers?
I'm doomed!

BTW: Just how long of a time is nigh anyway?
I gotta get my silly questions in while I still can.

Jesus was inclined to do his Fathers will and that was to promote the main theme in the Bible which was that of the Kingdom of God.

I suppose so, but what we are wondering here, is if there were to be an economic system for that Kingdom of God. What might it be, and how would Jesus go about setting it up? Hypothetically.
