A real good hypnotherapist can.
For example, some patients have had hypnosis performed on them and consequentially, experienced no pain from an operation.
Also, if a person goes back via hypnosis to the time of the trauma, they can 'relieve' the experience and instead of enhancing the trauma, become 'reborn' without the baggage from the trauma.

Happiness is the result of an enlightened mind whereas suffering is caused by a distorted mind.

Well, no, but is there a reason you ask?

rijhumal, anyone can move forward even after living through disasters, nightmares and so on. Not saying it's easy, but it can be done.
I do know how hard it can hit on the moment though, try to remember it's just a passing phase.
When you heal from those things that happened, remembering them does not hurt or scare you anymore. And you have better things to think about anyway.

rijhumal - I often view my own brain and memory system to be that like a computer. 1's and 0's, off or on. The older I get the more my memory mechanism begins to fail me. I can recall things that happened many years ago with accurate detail and yet I often can't remember what I just asked someone or the topic at hand that we are speaking about.
Then too, there are somethings in life that are too painful to recall. I know I intentionally push down and bury past events to a locked place within me. When those things remain locked up for so long, it's sometimes too hard to even bring them back up to my conscious surface. In this way I have essentially forgotten completely.
