The Ocean

Went to the beach today to feel the amazing sun rays on my body and soak in that Vitamin D as well as breathe in the fresh breeze coming off the cool and blue sea waters. I wanted to do some meditation however it was very distracting with kids playing next to you and walkers passing by. Instead I just gazed at the vast blue ocean and thought I could just drum up some poetry (like I used to in the past) to get my mind rattling again.

Here’s what I wrote unedited in that moment – subject to editing though =):

THE OCEAN

"The ocean so calm and so blue

In it’s vastness getting lost so easy to do

As I sit here appreciating the view

My mind gathering of an expression to you.

Hidden places and treasures found deep under

Majority unknown to our outside world

All that splendor and wonder

In a place not far from our own

How could a majestic kingdom be untouchable from our own

So fragile and supple we must seem

To a place marine call home

Bordering our own, co existence but a dream

Unpredicting forces you lay in wait

Of times turbulent, we pray for our fates

A life force you are, breathe and take

In some are ignorant minds, to err their mistake

Watching children play on on the outskirts of your realm

Taking joy of your cool embrace

Splashing about with your playful waves

Unaware of the depths of your emotional gaze

Refreshing and cool you come across to me

A place of tranquility to clear the mind

A stirring of peace I take in at this time

I give thanks to your blessings you bless upon me"

I hope you enjoyed and could make sense of what I wrote

Many Blessings

i believe poetry is more about the feelings you put in the words
rather than how much sense they make
it's lovely and charmingly calm poem
and it neatly written with light rhyme

I can totally relate to your images; the ocean is an integral part of my soul's health and joy
