The child in us all

To the tiny child full of might
Expressing its truth in plain sight
Is often thought, as a child who rebels
Often you’ll see, in time, expelled
By society, parents, by the norm
Yet all the while this child was born
With eyes that see, as it only sees
With feelings that feel, unlike you or me
Uniquely gathered through the stream of its lives
Born into this circle amidst truth and lies
Amidst the bombardment of faces, faces that hide
The truth as this child feels, the truth as it sees
Caught in the chaos, this unwelcome breeze
It passes through all of us, as children it steals
Little by little it becomes our field
When the world around us, in all its divide
Slowly but surely melds into our lives
Laying over our hearts, laying deep in our tears
This chaos is built, inside as our fears
The world in its torment, the world as it is
The suffering, the casualties in all ways it lives
Extends into each of us, in ways we can only know
When your conscious and aware of yourself fully in this flow
In your dismissive assumptions, or your blame or your guilt
Hidden inside you, lays the suffering it’s built
In some form, in some way, it’s there deep inside
Formed from the beginning, laid to rest when you die
So how will this death meet you? How will you end?
The suffering you’ve become from the hands of all men
Death in each moment as the witness you are
Can gauge deep inside yourself and look at ever scar
Become conscious of ‘I am’ that’s me
Let the greater depth of suffering change your entire reality!

Children watch your every move
With all their senses open wide
You penetrate and build divide
As their model, no matter who you are
The closest repeating one, will always scar
Will model, shape and form their view
Of what this human mind/body can do
Will be, will know, will feel and find
The action as one combined
Create the movements as the child will feel
Neglect, disconnect will fire up their wheel
As the model they know in all you do
How you speak and model you
They within all sensory known
Will build a picture of their home
Are you aware of what you send?
Project upon their beautiful den!
You may yell without a care
Never reconciling or building repair
You may dictate rules applied
But if you yourself don’t join this ride
They will build this bridge of divide!
If you continue to build your walls
Never softening the interior halls
With sunlight radiating your haze
They become the fog, compressed
Lost in this wall and broken mess
As the child grows and learns
You yourself should always turn
Every lesson back to you
Look deep within this laid out view
If you don’t, you’ll child will fall
Into the chasm of your long held walls!
So as you gift them with desires
Needs and wants that you admire
Just remember they are not you
Concern yourself with what you do
Towards yourself, how you care
For you as deep as your child compares
If you fill your body with junk and booze
Never model self caring rules
With consistent loving caring tools
The child will observe, take in this lack
Never seeing, feeling the balanced track
So if you want the best version of them
Look deep within yourself and when
You can see your own as deep
Your child’s broken heart
Will no longer weep
In ways, the cries, that you cannot hear
Play out as all the chaos you fear!

So as you love your child
Think of this as you love you
Look through their eyes
And see you too
As you connect and care for them
Think about what care you send
Loving without kindness, empathy and trust
Leaves the child with no awareness
To balance, feel the love
As a state of being connected, safe and thriving fast
Just because the love is felt and fills
Their tank to always last..
