I sure don't know. The Divine Mother or Divine Feminine aspect of the Supreme Being Who has no gender?
And comes to those that love a 'mother'.
I dunno.

Sylvia Browne says 'Mother God and Father God'.
She knew something I didn't.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

The best way I can think to describe it is like this. If you look at or imagine an image of the Yin and Yang symbol. The totality of everything is the symbol, that`s the oneness, god, the supreme being. But this being, like ourselves has aspects that make up its totality. As a creator it has a feminine aspect, that would be the black side of the symbol- the Yin side, to keep balance, everything must have an opposite, hence the white side, the masculine aspect, yang. The divine mother is the yin side of the oneness that is god.

Devisukta in Rig Veda is a very good brief explanation.

To Shaktas, Mother is both prakriti and purusha; Brahman and all forms.

Shakti and Mahamaya are Mother in a metaphorical sense. To be female requires one form, whereas Devi is formless and also has forms both male and female, existent and non-existent. She is the soul of everything, with pranava as her soul, and she is also the illusory world that makes us so convinced that we are separate.

While all beings are forms of Devi, all females are considered to be her aspects because women cause us to take embodied form. Babies grow in the womb, nourished by their mother's entire body. Likewise, Devi veils herself in various illusions and takes birth as us, at the same time nourishing us as though the entire world is her womb. She is Mother to all beings and the author of everything. We cannot exist without her.

I worship Durga as the Supreme Being because I consider her to be the form of god that is the least bound by illusion. She is the perfect example of unconditional love, wisdom and compassion, and she is capable of true equanimity. There is not much about dualistic existence that she takes seriously.
