If I may, without sounding like a dog with a bone, (cuz I do feel strongly about this), a mental state CAN change;
does not have to persist at all. I am proof of that!

Gee, I'd hate to think if someone had a mental state of low self-esteem, depression due to false messages from childhood,
would persist in that belief or thinking.
There are ways to change core subconscious 'mental states', patterns and belief systems.
So, ''whatever persists there will persist'', as you said...my input would be , "Yes, if nothing is done about it."

YES; exactly! This is what i am trying to convey! Whatever is persists, however, we are in charge!
That's why i said in the end; "Who are you today?"

Whatever is, persists, however, we do not have to pertain to that, we are changing beings, let us stay that way and grow all the way up to the heavenly realm!

Facepalm means that i made a mistake, like "Jesus Christ, why did i say that?" *facepalm*
It has a different meaning as well, but that's not important here :P

So to conclude! Whatever persists, is.
Whatever is, persists.
However, what is can be changed but then it is not "issing" anymore.
So it did not persists.
So whatever is NOW is now persisting!

The isness of life is always singing its song of isness.
We have to be with it as long as we are conscious beings.
In this isness we can either stay or go.
We can stay in one place with ourself and never change.
Or
We can keep on truckin', but whatever is "issing" now is perstisting, but we can always make a change happen!

This is not a trap; because, we are free beings and always have been, so whatever you are "issing" with now might not have to persist, but it does as long as we do not change ourself or the circumstances.
