Hello Everyone!

I am excited to be apart of this forum. I don't necessarily have anyone in my life that is interested in spirituality, so this forum seem like an awesome place to meet like minded people. To be direct, I am an Independent Scientologist; I realize people familiar with mainstream Scientology might find this concerning. Firstly, the Church of Scientology is a harmful cult, and I do not encourage anyone engage with them. I practice outside the CoS's control, and have never supported them financially, or otherwise. Secondly, I do not think of L. Ron Hubbard as infallible and I read all his writings within historic context. I encourage anyone with any kind of illness to seek help from qualified professionals. Also, there are various independent Scientologist organizations. I have studied/practiced with a couple of these gorups, but I have officially left them and have no intention of rejoining. I do not encourage anyone to reach out to them, because I feel it is unnecessary for spiritual growth.

I only bring up this because it gives context to my beliefs and story. I am here to discuss spiritual things from a lager point of view, and I think there is a large overlap in a lot of spiritual systems; being open about what I believe makes it easier to indetify those similarities and have productive discussions. I am not shy, and will answer respectful questions about my beliefs, but am not here to change any minds. Also, with the well earned reputation of the CoS, I am basically closeted with my religion/spirituality. So, it is nice to talk freely and not have to hide what I think. That being said, I probably won't use any Scientologist jargon, and the ideas I am most interested in have basis in other beliefs systems as well. So, I will probably discuss those from the point of view of those systems. Anyway, I am pretty normal otherwise. Other than that, my great grandma was Spiritualist and a medium, and I think my sister and I inherited some of that. We both have had weird experiences that we can't explain, but I will save that for a later post. Have a great day, feel free to ask me anything!

First of all, I too want to welcome you to Spiritual Forums.

I am very familiar with L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology primarily because I had a very dear friend (no longer on the earth plane) who knew Hubbard very well since he was a frequent visitor to her home before he founded the Church of Scientology. At that time, Hubbard was a struggling science-fiction writer and my friend's husband was the technical advisor to the first Star Trek series.

I look forward to hearing whatever you would like to share here.
