The crown
Statement or question perhaps
Was the encounter upon waking.
Had I been in a deep trance for this long?
Was this clever mantle casing my only windows to the exterior?
How?
How foolish to allow such power over unkind palms.
Puppetry is indeed no pleasantry.
But yet again, the sovereignty has come to an end.
The crown has fallen off, reducing the ego.
And I, subsequently, have gained the jewels.
