Missing affirmations for one day

Hi Members,

I always practice my affirmations daily.

There was one day whereby I was not really feeling well and could not practice my affirmations for that day.

Will there be an impact on my progress because I missed my affirmations for a day?

Because I understand that affirmations must be practiced continuously to see the effects.

There are no "must be practices" as far as the divine is concerned.

In my view we would all be wise to get away from Rigid Rules intended as guidance.

No they don't.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I think your on the right tract. The more you practice your affirmations the more your subconscious mind grabs them and believes them to be true. Missing 1 day won't do anything especially if they have started to become a part of your belief system.

Yes, it’s all about habit.

John Kehoe says in his book (Mind Power into the 21st century) that beliefs and affirmations take time to sink in, and that you have to do your ‘exercises’ for 90 days in order for them to be registered subliminally. After that, they become self-maintaining.

(By ‘exercises’ these could be any LOA process like gratitude, visualisation etc, but affirmations tend to be the most common).

He suggests marking days off on a calendar so that you know you have done you exercises, and if you miss a day, start the 90 days again.

Mind power builds up energy and psychic ‘momentum’ and this compounds the more you do it. So following your one day with another, then another, has an incremental effect, but if you miss a day, a gap is created, and the incremental effect slows down.

Being part of your belief system is big, Yes.

Welcome here, gigi! :)

Thank you for your reply Sir Neil. I find it very informative. :)
I have a few queries after reading your post.
Is it sufficient if I say the affirmations once a day for this 90 day exercise?

You are most welcome.

It rather depends on what your exercises are. If you are using affirmations, then they are usually going against beliefs you have habitually used for a long time, and which will be well worn into your belief system. Because of this, new beliefs (expressed first through affirmations) need time to sink in and become the habitual beliefs, so keep up 1000 repetitions a day for 90 days. Break them up into clusters of around 100 affirmations at a time and spread them out throughout the day if that makes it easier.

If it’s something like visualisations, then you only need to do them once a day for 5-10 minutes. That will keep up the psychic momentum you generate.
