Learning the basic meanings of tarot cards - resource recommendations

Hey,

Could anyone recommend a good book or video to give me the starter meanings for tarot cards. I have purchased a book recently to start me off with understanding the basics of the cards but as I was reading a couple of the meanings it just felt off to me, when I Googled a couple of different sites to get a few different meanings the book seemed off compared to the general meaning on the websites. This has now left me abit confused about what resources to trust. I'm aware cards can be read in all different ways depending on the interpretation of the reader but Id like to understand the absolute basics the card represents so I have a good groundwork before I start to use my intuition to read the meaning of the card. Any help is appreciated.

What tarot set do you have? Rider Waite is the traditional, original deck and most books on tarot refer to the RW deck. If you've picked another deck, the interpretation can differ greatly from deck to deck and these usually come with their own book.

For years I made do with info on the internet which offers many sources and interpretations. You can make notes or print things that resonate.

I did find a book at some point -years later- and that helped me to finally really get the hang of it. Mostly because it also said to get a deck you resonate with. I was using RWS and that doesn't do it for me.
I got the deck that was used in the book's images, and it worked right away. I did all the exercises in the book and for the first time I felt I was really going somewhere with it.
But all the years of dabbling with info from the net wasn't wasted as that had given me a sense of the basic interpretations.

The book hasn't been translated in English, I checked last night, and I don't know beginners books like that in English.
I'd try go through books on Amazon and use the 'look inside' option to see if it resonates with you.
