Deleting posts

How do you delete some of your own posts on here? Sometimes, one of my replies will be posted twice.

You can edit your own postings for hours afterwards, perhaps as much as a day. That gives you plenty of time to delete the text of any duplicate one and add a note saying what you've done.

Yup, give me a link to it in a pm and I'll delete it if you can't.
I don't know why we can't delete double posts.] ourselves.
But I say -''Be careful to click Reply one time and WAIT!"

This place is not like an elevator when you're in a rush and you hit the button 5 times!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

If my experience on ALF is anything to go by, the facility to edit and/or delete is one than can be set in the forums permissions. I have adjusted ours to allow deletion of a posting and editing one you want to keep but the permission is time limited.

I've had occasional problems here when I've submitted my piece but then been notified that "The server is too busy....." etc. So I hit my browser's back button to return to my intended submission, wait a while and then press the 'Submit' button again.

Sometimes though the posting appears NOT to have been submitted so I do it again and find there's a double entry. I guess it's just a website/server software glitch and when that happens I edit my duplicate to say "oops - double posted"
