That makes sense.

and as you have commented many times, Jesus did not write anything..........
Now, if you mentioned that Matthew wrote in Hebrew and Luke wrote in koine Greek, then that in of it self would be interesting to pursue.

INTERESTING OBSERVATIONS

Jesus spoke a lot about the Kingdom and later, John reemphasized Jesus's points. That was/is a major theme in the Bible but for whatever reason, has been brushed to the way side.

MissHepburn,

I am the guilty party....hahahaha...post #4.......then in your post #44....I disputed that the door had never been closed perhaps without stating the obvious(that to communicate with God you must be spiritual).....at some later point I provided John 7:37....to demonstrate that mankind had been without the Spirit until Jesus came....anyone citing OT will see whenever there was direct contact with God it was God the initiator......I somehow keep thinking that Spirit is appropriate topic matter on the Spiritual Forums.....and even more so on Christianity....
Still wondering why Jesus would talk about "no greater love than this".....What was He possibly thinking....?

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

What a beautiful and heartfelt moment in time that transcends time and language.
Their singing seems to reach down and lift the Spirit up.

Copied from the interwebs.
Quote:
How does the blood of Jesus cleanse us from sin?
The blood of Jesus cleanses us from sin by exposing sin for what it is and then calling us to no longer live in the way of sacred violence. His blood cleanses us through calling us to practice non-violence.
Somehow and I don't claim to know all the ins and outs, Jesus The Christ sealed the contract called the New Testament by His Life, Death, burial, and resurrection. This gives us the ability to allow the Holy Spirit to indwell in us.This supersedes the Old Testament where the Holy Spirit could only dwell with people for a time for God's purposes.
This is a stumbling block for the Jews and foolishness to the Greeks.

1 Corinthians 1:23, NIV: "but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,"

John says it this way:
John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

So I agree, to walk in the Light is to have faith that the Blood of The Christ washes us clean.
I was not there when God sacrificed His own Blood through His Son.
John is baring witness, I can only have faith and trust in God.
John also says: These three agree: The Spirit and the Water and The Blood.
