Core beliefs....

Are strongly-held, rigid, and inflexible beliefs that are maintained by the tendency to focus on information that supports the belief and ignoring evidence that contradicts it.

But is not that also true of all the other religions?

When a person focuses their energy on disproving the beliefs of a religion that is not of their own belief, it 'can' open the doorways for them to be shown that their own religion has questionable beliefs. It is those 'questionable' beliefs that 'cement' a person to that particular belief system.

But the core message doesn't change: In Christianity, Jesus is the saviour, the ''Son of God''.

They all have a core set of beliefs, customs, rituals, etc. That's why they're established as religions. Their level of structure makes them rigid by default.

Honza,

Luke 18:8.....”when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth ?”

The short answer: not if he visits this forum....:). It is very important for many to come here and destroy faith. Running on adrenaline from their egos. Basically they are no different from the fundamentalists. Everything is taken literally, ignoring any spiritual or symbolic connotation. Common sense, historical accuracy, the right definition of a word and everything that will meet scientific scrutiny. The spiritual will always be shielded from the material.

Absolutely!

People that go after other religions for their beliefs don't seem to realize that their own religion has beliefs that some can question.

If that's how you see differences in opinions Mo I would question the strength of ones ' Faith '.

Sky123,

I would question my faith more if I felt that I was bereft of discernment.
