Are Catholics prohibited to read A Course in Miracles?

Just a thought.

And other New Age books, such as: The Secret etc.

The current Pope strikes me as a very compassionate man.

That was funny.
GalTrav- ACIM© is not for beginners...you game?
The Catholic Church is very restrictive -lotta rules. So does one follow rules or their heart?
I say take a peek outside the box.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

why would a catholic want to read it?
it teaches you all your thoughts are meaningless
including thoughts about jesus and everything really
except the thoughts about the course? lol
all thoughts... meaningless
it's great if you want to get out of your head
at least it is one method that may work for some
some of the time

i'd say the catholic methods are not for beginners
the new age stuff is
but they all point to the same things eh
i think one is not better or more advanced than the other
that's just egotism to me
a person could read the tao of winnie the pooh and find god
or look at a flower
it's the person, not the method, imho

I personally know nothing about ACIM, but if it teaches you to ' get out of your head ' as you stated then it sounds good

These are such awesome answers! A lot to consider and it also illustrates the different perspectives all coming from heart centered authenticity. I find just interpreting the Bible according to inner guidan6 can be a big deal for certain people in any denomination unfortunately.

From what I have seen, it depends on which Catholics you ask.
