Our peonies, along with other perennials, are in the growing stage. A gentian has 4 flower buds on it so waiting for them to open as the flowers are a beautiful shade of blue.

Had a big surprise today.
One of my Horseradish plants survived the Winter only to succumb to the heat. I still watered her and today, she is 'resurrecting'.

Big John, what wonderful surprises!
Chrysalis, you garden sounds beautiful!
I trimmed out my mom’s giant hedge and got to use power tools! Feeling quite accomplished, seeing as there were no trips to the Emergency Room! All went well.

BigJohn, I can smell your hedge from here!
We went to the big box store and bought new cucumbers and two lavenders.
During the isolation at home, a lot of public meetings were on zoom. I got to watch one on xeriscaping. I found out the significance of being zone 5b and learned to put squeegee rock in the soil before planting to help with drainage in our crazy clay soils. I have killed a half dozen rosemary and lavender plants in the past. I am hopeful this new mixture will do the trick!
I have harvested a good bit of almost all of the herb. All except mint. Which I will probably do today.
Oh, the cucumbers had to be replanted...the first set succumbed to grubs.
