I'll start it off with..You can"t go wrong with kindness.
Kindness is good.
How can kindness be expressed? A hundred ways.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.

To me kindness is giving and helping others before yourself

I’ll add…….”if you have to choose between being right or being kind, choose kind.”

Hello Redchic ---and all.

Thanks for the question. There is a lot of wondering and pondering in the thoughts/opinions in response.

At heart I feel that goodness and kindness are words we use in an attempt to describe characteristics of behaviour associated with--and powered by--the process of loving.

If we have a wish to do so, there is much to explore concerning this process and also much that we shall not be able to discover/uncover by mental exploration---but instead realise when becoming participants in the process, the mysterious process.

So this realisation--becoming real--does not actually require discovery by conscious mental exploration--and indeed if mental capacity finds that it is unable to fathom out the mystery, that same mental capacity may then choose to reason that the mysterious process simply does not exist. This choice may result in closing off the avenue, the way of participation. Such closure is not however irreversible I think.

Fortunate perhaps are those among us who are able to travel straightway upon the way unhindered by mental consideration, and who are themselves perhaps not mentally conscious of the mysterious wonder of their natural loving behaviour.

It is perhaps not so easy for us to understand--because our "normal" means of provisioning our needs is by using various means to obtain whatever it is we need-- that such realisation by participation comes not as a reward, nor expectation of reward, but simply as consequence of participation.

Indeed, we might wonder if such expectation may itself become an obstacle to participation.

Cheers. X.

i liked your answer wearunity :)

sometimes love takes the down side i find.... it isn't a matter of trying to get good feelings for yourself as much as an allowance for others to be themselves.

Hello Falling leaves.

Thanks for that --appreciated.

The same comment from me to you this time regarding your thoughts --"it isn't a matter of trying to get good feelings for yourself-------".

Thoughts providing food for further thoughts.

wearuniity - thank you for reminding me!

even loving myself, enough to just let myself be and quit meddling in my OWN life, is not a road I've been on very long but I love it! But it is part of what I was able to learn after I learned that I needed to extend that courtuesy to others

It’s a quality of character, where actions extend from how you are in this way. If you model goodness or kindness as your character, it’s an openness willing to share in this way, of being you.
