Hello dreamers
Over the years of lucid dreaming, I've used various 'portals' as doorways to another place. I must have latched onto the belief of needing them in the early days because I can't simply close my eyes, place intent and open them. I'm still in the same place.
The portals I use are posters, windows, doors, mirrors, pictures, fireplaces, TVs, computers and as a last resort a wall. If I'm outside, it tends to be a wall.
I have found out a couple of things which I thought I'd share...in case it was of interest to anyone.
These days I only put my head through first. This is to check that I'm where I want to be. Many times I'd just leap through willy-nilly and find myself somewhere totally different than intended. And because of my curious nature, I'd forget the intent and go off exploring the new place. Alternatively, I'd get frustrated that I'm not where I should be and emotion would kick in, thereby aborting the experience.
If I'm not where intended, then I simply pull my head out and try again with stronger intent.
Of the portals I use, the best by far is a mirror. Second is a window. Both are a breeze to go through. I have on occasions got 'stuck' in walls or had to really push to get through.
I used a mirror last night and was successful first time.
If anyone has any other tips or hints, please do share.
