I am all for individualism and utilitarianism (a stranger who minimizes suffering for another stranger is not utilitarianism), and I am against political, moral, economic, and spiritual paternalism, that treats people like dependent todlers and creates the sense of entitlement- people whom are dependent todlers-and manipulates and controls politics, morals, economics, and spirituality. A person should be able to do what he/she wants and desires politically, morally economicly, and spiritually, as long as he/she does not harm someone else and does not infringe on someones god given rights.

What about doing things that damage self? As that tends to effect others too.

Re some points up thread , who are the oppressed v who are the oppressors, before and during WW2 we recognised that regimes were persecuting Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, Russians and disabled people, it took us some time to wake up to this and fight back against the injustice, are there continued mass killings of those groups by a stronger regime today? I don't see it, so there has been success, advancement or has the persecution just changed? Many Muslims hae had to die due to our regimes in places like Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine, we have seen the acceptance of bans on religious dress such as the veil and these things continue, so we haven't learnt much, I would apply the same idea to slavery where poor people are using their land, about and resources to produce masses of goods for the affluent.
