Wearing a pendulum for passive communication

Hi everyone,
assuming I use the pendulum solely for these communications, what are your opinions on wearing it as a pendant? Would it facilitate "passive" communication even when not being used as a pendulum? The item I am planning on using is an amethyst pendant I am already wearing.

Sometimes I meditate while holding it in my hands as well, but it is the no-though kind of meditation as opposed to actively visualizing anything.

Wander, I wear my pendulum all the time. I like the rose quart, tiger's eye, amethyst, brass. Just check out the properties of the crystal that you want to wear in case you are struggling with something, certain crystals can help with that. You can buy something like a cage at any place that sells crystals as well so you can add any crystal you want to wear. :) You might want to put another ring through the top though if you want to try it as a pendulum cause the cage's ring does not spin all that well. And whatever you do, don't forget a prayer of protection from all negative entities and energies before you start any form of divination and close all pathways when you are done. I just can not stress this enough. The closing I use is: I disconnect for any and all sources that I have connected to, in all time frames, all realities, in all dimensions, in all realms, in all universes. Wow! Thanks for the info! Just a couple of hours ago I was playing with it asking trivial questions about what colour clothes the people I will be meeting with wear. None of which i got the right answer, but then again I was asking multiple choice questions..
Soon after that I developed as on and off headache about an inch into my head, right between and about an inch higher of the eyes (about right where I would guess the third eye might be)..

It did ease when I press the same amethyst pendant against it. I did not open or close any protective circle when I was doing that though and I wonder if that could be the reason. Did not think to do that as I thought I was simply connecting with my higher self and not spirits when using a pendulum.. Anyway, I have called on any angels, guides and masters that may be present to help me cleanse of any evil spirits, in all times, realities, dimensions, realms and universes and I can say I feel a little bit better
