When I was young, famine was everywhere. I remember the 'Feed the World' concert in the mid 80's, but as life went on, it seems less common and less extreme, so I don't see real-world evidence of the rich getting richer to the detriment of lower classes. I have seen a general-population increase of wealth across the whole world, and I bet if you looked up the graphs, they'd all be going up and to the right. I also find that the rich people I work for are typically very generous. They pay me more than I ask for, and I think if we could to a statistical analysis of greed, the percentage of greedy poor people would exceed that of the wealthy. I have no evidence of that, but I think most people get rich by providing benefit and value to other people.

Agree with Gem. Rich people being greedy is a myth mostly. Why not look into donations? I think you might be surprised.

From a socialist perspective though it is never enough until everyone is equally poor.

Greed or gluttony and man's love of money are warned about by God, so having guardianship of the eco system should include these warnings, it shouldn't be controlled by athiestic types.
