Well I am...

James: Sometimes.

There's a storm outside, and the gap between crack and thunder
Crack and thunder, is closing in, is closing in
The rain floods gutters, and makes a great sound on the concrete
On a flat roof, there's a boy leaning against the wall of rain
Aerial held high, calling "come on thunder, come on thunder"

Sometimes, when I look deep in your eyes, I swear I can see your soul
Sometimes, when I look deep in your eyes, I swear I can see your soul

It's a monsoon, and the rain lifts lids off cars
Spinning buses like toys, stripping them to chrome
Across the bay, the waves are turning into something else
Picking up fishing boats and spewing them on the shore

The boy is hit, lit up against the sky, like a sign, like a neon sign
And he crumples, drops into the gutter, legs twitching
The flood swells his clothes and delivers him on, delivers him on

Sometimes, when I look deep in your eyes, I swear I can see your soul
Sometimes, when I look deep in your eyes, I swear I can see your soul

There's four new colors in the rainbow
An old man's taking polaroids
But all he captures is endless rain, endless rain
He says listen, takes my head and puts my ear to his
And I swear I can hear the sea

Somtimes, when I look in your eyes I can see your soul
(I can reach your soul)
(I can touch your soul)
Sometimes

OOOOH I loooooooove musical affirmations :-)

Smashing Pumpkins "With Every Light"

Taking over
We're taking over
Throw the weight up off you shoulders now
That we can show our love
It's almost over it's almost over
No more war and no more soldiers
To stand against his love
Away with all the troubles that you've made
Away with waiting for another day
Away
Look ma the sun is shining on me
Impatient, in love and aching to be
Could you believe in heaven
If heaven was all you had
We're taking over we're taking over
Throw away your four leafed clovers
And stand beside this love
Away with everything you've grown to hate
Away with anything that holds you safe
Away
And every light I've found
Is every light that's shining down on me
I'm never alone
Look ma the sun is shining on me
Taking my time to do as I please
Could you believe in heaven
If heaven was all you had
The sun is beaming, radiating
All the love we are creating
We are creating
And every light I've found
Is every light that's shining down on me
I'm never alone

Diary of Dreams

King of Nowhere

You find yourself in the benefit of the doubt
The prospect of a change both a blessing and a curse

These are the consequences that you might have to bear
To make it all come true it's just one step to take

On days like this, you feel your desires
I know that you care and you see what this world is about to unfold

Fear not this is not the end of this world
Step close to the edge to believe the absurd
The wind in your hair is the freedom we share
A tear in your eye proves at least that you try

This man has lived in grim diversity
uncertain and in doubt, if his choices were ideal

A lifetime feeling torn. The king of nowhere never home
And now about to find a new philosophy

This song has helped me immensley in getting through the recent death of my dad.

Thank you, NewRageGuru, SurrendertotheFlow, MutedBlue & SunshineoftheSoul!

SunshineoftheSoul,
When I looked up Ester & Jerry Hicks on youtube, I found this one... it's not actually sung, but I like the affirmations to the background Native American song.
That language along with Polynesian languages are so beautiful to me!

The other day, when my son was doing the dishes happily (1 small miracle! ) I was playing very softly this song, & I heard him singing along...
I love myself - Trish Hatley

More songs to affirmations...
Beauty in You - Karen Drucker:

In the Stillness - Elaine Nitz

I just read a cool quote about gratitude (if I remember correctly)...
"Not only is gratitude a great virtue, it is the parent of all other virtues."
Thankful - Josh Groban

I don't have speakers on this temporary computer I have been using, lol, otherwise I'd love to listen to your links. I love Alanis Morissette. She writes with such raw abandon. So many of her songs could be affirmations lol

One day I'll find relief
I'll be arrived
And I'll be friend to my friends who know how to be friends
One day I'll be at peace
I'll be enlightened and I'll be married with children and maybe adopt
One day I will be healed
I will gather my wounds forge the end of tragic comedy

I have been running so sweaty my whole life
Urgent for a finish line
And I have been missing the rapture this whole time of being forever incomplete

One day my mind will retreat
And I'll know God
And I'll be constantly one with her night dusk and day
One day I'll be secure
Like the women I see on their thirtieth anniversaries

I have been running so sweaty my whole life
Urgent for a finish line
And I have been missing the rapture this whole time of being forever incomplete

Ever unfolding
Ever expanding
Ever adventurous
And torturous
And never done

One day I will speak freely
I'll be less afraid
And measured outside of my poems and lyrics and art
One day I will be faith-filled
I'll be trusting and spacious authentic and grounded and home

I have been running so sweaty my whole life
Urgent for a finish line
And I have been missing the rapture this whole time of being forever incomplete
