how do you know it is a guardian angel if someone attempts to talk to you in mediation

You won't know until you ask, but ask with no expectation it will be an Angel. With no thought in your mind at all as to what it might be ask "Who Are you?" and "Why are you here?"

I would love to meet my Guardian Angel...........
I STARTED CRYING WHEN I READ THIS THREAD TITLE......
How would I contact them and ask them to materilise for me??

I saw and truly connected with my Guardian Angel during a meditation by Kyle Gray a few years ago. That was the first time. I saw him very clearly standing slightly behind me to my left. I even got his name without any trouble. Loud and clear!
Even though I'm very intuitive my mind usually blocks when I am supposed to see something, like a guide, power animal etc. That time it was easy.
I looked up the meaning of his name as I only knew it as a flower. Turned out it means the same as the nickname I use for myself as a coach!!
My jaw dropped, I could not believe it! Sheer proof that it was correct.
Since, I call on him regularly. It feels good to have him near, to know he's there.
