Angel1 Forgetting dreams before waking

Since i've started my spiritual awakening, i've been having dreams where I feel my angels are communicating with me or telling me things. I'm in a semi conscious state thinking "this is important, personal mental note to remember on waking" then I wake and I don't remember! I'm so frustrated.

How do I remember on waking?

Do you have a dream journal ? You can write down your thoughts, dreams when you first wake up. Doesn't have to be the whole dream, just whatever you remember, a word, a phrase, a visual.

"How do I remember on waking?" Before you go to sleep, ask the Angels to help you remember when you wake up.

I do have a journal, but I can't remember anything to write in it when I wake up. But at dawn when I was semi conscious I remember thinking "i've got a message and I must remember it when I wake up" LOL

Thanks I will try that tonight.

You can train your mind to remember. Before you go to sleep set your intent by saying you wish to recall your dreams. Your subsconscious will respond to this. Say it out loud or better still write it down. Buy a dream journal or simply keep your mobile phone by your bed to jot down key points from dreams as soon as you wake up in the night or morning. You won't expect to remember the entire dream and you'll probably be too tired in the night to write it down fully. That's ok - key terms will help you remember when you write the entire dream out later on.

You won't remember much at first, but do perservere. Write down as much as you CAN remember. This shows your mind you are serious and want to remember the messages it is giving you. Over time you will remember more. It is well worth sticking with.

Just another point - do you meditate? If not I would recommend it, as aside from all the other benefits meditation will also lead to more vivid dreams.

Yes I meditate every day, sometimes guided others just to music.
It's getting easier with practice and the purple swirl and patches are much bigger almost taking over the whole vision.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. This is very exciting for me in my life right now.

I practiced the art of dreamstate for many years. I kept a journal for about 4 or more years. I did a course on dreams. I even began mail-box dream interpretations.

When it comes to spiritual messages whispered to the soul...we generally are not required to remember them via the brain. These are soul messages and no need to fret over thinking you didn't get them or understand them. The brain would only analyse them anyway and mess up their meanings.

As for remembering dreams. It requires a slow wakefulness. Not one that is forced by outside sounds such as alarms or noises. When one keeps a daily dream journal, it trains the mind eventually to exercise remembering dreams. I got to the point where I could remember 5 dreams in one night. In an average 8hr sleep we can cycle 5 or 6 dreams per night in between REM sleep.

If you allow yourself to gently come awake and lay still between wakefullness and sleep, you will be more successful in remembering your dreams.

Keep a diary and a flashlight beside your bed. Even if you don't wake to use it, the intention is there which is all mind-training. If you don't remember any dreams in the morning, then still write something in your diary. Even to say, I didnt catch my dreams last night but perhaps tonight.

Cheers

My main problem is forcing myself to write the key points down as soon as I come out of a dream in the night when I'm only half awake. If I turn over and go back to sleep nine times out of ten I've lost nearly all memory of the dream aside from knowing it was profound. I think that if you remember waking up knowing the dream was important, the main thing is to get into the habit of rousing yourself enough to jot down the odd word or sentence to jog your memory in the morning.

I tended to short-hand its meaning sorry DA..i started a mail-box (postal addreass via post office mail-box). I put out flyers advertising dream interpretation via mail-box address and worked via hand-written responses to clients.

oh I see, doing dream interpretations for others, nice idea ! I thought it was a new idea for interpreting ones dreams like writing your dream wishes down, putting them in a sort of mailbox before going to sleep and then during the night , these would be what your dreams would be ~ now wouldn't that be an interesting idea !
