Double yolked eggs.
Have had them occasiönally in the past but have just had the last egg out of a box of six and all have been double yolks!
Any meanings to this eg should I worry about my next cholesterol check?:)

Hi Pod....
Please do t remind me.
When I was in catering I used to get full tray fulls if double yokers ....
My customers used to love em.
Me, I couldn't stand them.
They freak me out !!!!
Maybe cos I'm a twin ?

Come the Autumn I get a sack of potatoes and a tray of eggs from a farm
all the eggs are double yokes,

I reckon the yolks in these are perhaps nearly half the size as they are normally and most of them had a weaker skinned yolk that split.

I'd always presumed two chicks would form if the eggs were fertilized but apparently not.

From what I have read double yolks are common with young hens and oddly enough old hens.

Strange really, I always assumed they were twin yolks , but thinking about it, logic has to tell you that two little chicks could not grow properly and survive in the one egg.
Some beliefs say that to get a double yoker is bad luck, whereas others say it is good luck.

Some snakes and lizards are born with two heads, I think it happens less in birds, not sure of the births are live or from eggs as I think some reptiles have live births.
