Trees as Friends

When I moved from Virginia to Sweden, trees, of all things, became my safety net and most solid friends. Trees have always been special to me, as to so many people, and I have done the same "sitting under the tree and breathing in energy" or whatever meditations we have included these grand creatures, but in Virginia they took on another form. I started to hear them, and I started to see faces in their branches, sometimes funny, sometimes serene. And I started to hear them talk to. Not only the singing of the wind, but messages. Sometimes they where reassuring, sometimes they spoke of things in the landscape around me. Trees made me feel welcome, but also taught me interesting things about the new place I lived in.

Perhaps it was because I had to get to know these sentient beings all over, slightly different species, familiar and new at the same time. I have always loved oaks. In Sweden we have the sturdy kind, with fat trunks. In Virginia there are at least three different kinds of oak, the spiky leafy ones being fascinating to me, and some oaks with leaves many times bigger than I was used to. It was a little like interacting with a new culture. We're all humans here, but this is slightly unfamiliar. You're all trees, but this is a bit exotic to me.

I have traveled a lot in my life, so it wasn't so much me being unexposed to all kinds of Eco-systems. But traveling is another thing than moving somewhere.

The trees where I live now seem to watch over me. Every morning I go out on the porch I greet them. They greet me back.

Aw, I love that.

Many many times in my life they have come alive...breathing, with such a presence.

You may like this story found on www.nderf.org about NDEs.

A boy in a park stopped to admire a tree thinking how beautiful it was. He 'died' later.
During his Life Review, where you see your past...where you can feel 'how' you effected
something (good or bad)...he was given the feeeeeeling the tree felt when he did that.

And still talks about that as a grown man.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.

Thank you for sharing your lovely story. They are amazing and soulful, aren't they.

They are a big part of my journey runs, I owe them everything really. From the oxygen they provide me and the scenery. They are a great support system, we don't acknowledge them enough.

My trail today
