Siddhars

On a recent trip to India, i found a connection to the ancient Siddhars. The Siddhars are beings who exist both in body and beyond, to help us on our way. In South India there are many shrines to the siddhars, these places of power where the blessings can be received. The siddhars are perfected beings who have taken light bodies to remain as helpers in this world of ours.

There are 18 siddhars in the Tamil siddha tradition. They are

3. Sri Kamalamuni Siddhar
4. Sri Thirumoolar Siddhar
5. Sri Kuthambai Siddhar
6. Sri Korakkar Siddhar
7. Sri Thanvandri Siddhar
8. Sri Konganar Siddhar
9. Sri Sattamuni Siddhar
10. Sri Vanmeegar Siddhar
11. Sri Ramadevar Siddhar
12. Sri Nandeeswarar (Nandidevar) Siddhar
13. Sri Edaikkadar Siddhar
14. Sri Machamuni Siddhar
15. Sri Karuvoorar Siddhar
16. Sri Bogar Siddhar
17. Pambatti Siddhar
18. Sundarandandar

All Siddhars were among the highest disciples of God Shiva, and are considered equal in their powers and devotion to the supreme God.

Hi Murugan. Thank YOu. Yes these 18 siddhars are well known. There are some who say that because these siddhars have incarnated in human form there are many more... even 210 siddhars.. See Brahmarishi hills blog by Radha Mathaji who is a very helpful guide to this ancient lineage.

1.Gurulinga swamigal jeeva samadhi temple saidapet chennai:
10/92 , Karaneeswarar Temple Street,Saidapet.100 meters from karaneeshwarar temple saidapet.

2.Muthulinga swamigal jeeva samadhi temple -
royapettah high roadWhen u start at radhakrishnan salai you will find the bridge passing over this road .That road is royapettah high road.Take left from that bridge and go around 400 to 500 meters then you will find this temple at your right. Straight Opposite of state bank of indore bank is the jeeva samadhi temple and diagonal opposite to hotel swagath in royapettah high road.

3.Nandhamuni swamigal jeeva samadhi temple

Take the road adjacent to Pachaiappa College and take 4th right and go around 100 meters and you will find the jeeva samadhi temple at your right side.Temple name is Nadhamuneeswarar alayam.Time 6.30 to 9.30

4.Gangadhara Swamigal jeeva samadhi temple:
After sisiting Nadhamuni swamigal temple go down below the fly over bridge then u will find mcc school at ur right in 200 to 300 meters.Opposite to MCC school is the Harrington road 6th avenue .Go further for 100 Meters then you will find the Temple at right sdie.Address:Jaya Vinayakar Temple, Harrington Road 6th Avenue, Chetpat.Time 6.30 to 9 and 5 to 8pm

5.Ganapathi siddhar jeeva samadhi temple

alias istha lingeshwar templeIn the richie street signal at mount road take the road opposite to hotel vasantha bhavan is the wallaja road it will join at MGR samadhi/Marina beach.In the wallaja road go for 500 meters and take left road which is opposite to MCC stadium and which is just before the fly over bridge.in that road go further 100 meters u will find this templs just before chennai press club.

Chamundihari, thanks for your response. These jeevasamadhisa re extremely powerful placeds, i have visited a couple. I hope to return next year and visit Brahmarishi hills where there are siddhars both alive in human form and in light bodies.

குணங்குடிமஸ்தானின் இயற்பெயர் சுல்தான் அப்துல்கதிர் என்பதாகும். பிறப்பு கி.பி. 1788 ம் ஆண்டு தொண்டியில். கீழக்கரை சென்று ஷெய்குஅப்துல்காதர் லெப்பை ஆலிம் (தைக்கா சாஹிபு) என்பவரிடம் கல்வி பயின்றார். பின்னர்திரிசிரபுரமடைந்து ஷாம் ஷாஹிபிடம் தீட்சை பெற்று, தம் 17ஆவது வயதில் துறவுபூண்டார்.

அதன்பின் அவர்கள் காரைக்கால் சென்று அங்குள்ள குப்பைமேடுகளில் தங்கித் தம் காலத்தைக் கழித்து வந்தனர். மக்கள் குப்பைகளைக் கொண்டு வந்துகொட்டுவதையும் பொருட்படுத்தாது அங்குத் தங்கியிருந்த அவர்களைச் சில ஆலிம்கள் அணுகி, அவர்கள் தொழாது தூய்மையற்ற இடத்தில் தங்கிப் போலித்துறவி வேடம் புனைந்திருப்பதாகக்குறைகூறினர். உடனே அவர்கள் தண்ணீர் கொணரச் செய்து உளூச் செய்து அங்கேயே தொழுதனர்.ஆனால் தொழத் துவங்கியவர்கள், துவங்கியவர்கள்தாம். மூன்று நாள்கள் அவர்கள் உணர்வற்றுநின்ற நிலையிலேயே நின்று தொழுது கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அதைக்கண்டு அவர்களைக் குறைகூறியஆலிம்கள் அவர்களின் மகாத்மியத்தை உணர்ந்து, அவர்களைப் போற்றிப் புகழ்ந்தனர்.இந்நிலையில் அவர்களும் அவ்வூரைவிட்டும்நீங்கி விட்டனர்

பிறகு சென்னை வந்து தம் வாழ்வின் கடைசிப் பன்னிரண்டு ஆண்டுகளையும் சென்னை இராயபுரத்தில் யோகநிஷ்டையில்கழித்த அவர், தம் 47ஆம் வயதில் அங்கேயே காலமானார். அவருடைய பெயரால்உருவான 'தொண்டியார் பேட்டை', இன்று தண்டையார் பேட்டை என மருவி வழங்குகிறது.

Namaskaram M.Namasivayam.. I am guessing this is about a jeeva samadhi of a siddhar saint? Do you have english translation of the Tamil?
