Soul-spirit only recognizes soul evolution. Soul evolution is the outcome of whatever it is the soul experiences on its incarnation journey. The one and only soul -- the only "someone" -- who can answer any of the above (?) is the individual soul who lives their life, and who experiences all the various outcomes and results of their many incarnations. There are no other souls, no angels, no gods, no devils or demons, standing about judging whether or not a particular soul is "deserving."

If there is anything from a soul-spirit pov vaguely comparable to what the human intellect conceptualizes as "deserving," it would be observing and taking into account of the soul's ascension path and state of being. Ascension is the culmination and end result of the soul's self-realization journey in human form. One could (very roughly) say that a soul that has completed its self-realization requirements (so to speak), has reached a state of conscious union with Creation where it is now "deserving" of release from the Wheel of Earth Life, and ascending to higher planes of vibrational existence.

Also and going back to your original question, if you specifically mean in relation to the criminal justice system, the answer is definitely and absolutely no if you happen to be a billionaire or politician.

This is such a personal question. I think the only person who can really say something about it is the person going through the suffering. If I think about myself, my suffering is self inflicted, however was influenced by others. So it's a bit of a chicken or egg story, although I'm gravitating towards me being the source of it. But it is all for me to figure out, and it is not for others to speak out. Better yet, most people would do well to practice silence of speech. Likewise, other people have their own suffering, and while my mind can make judgement calls about it, it would be unwise to speak out about it and make the decision for them.

Agree. It is about learning and soul evolution. Very powerful imo. About free-will, this also means one is free not to listen.

Exactly. Which negates the idea of others determining what another individual deserves. Every soul is completely free to follow or not follow their karmic path.

That said, this question like all others has two points of view from which it can be examined and discussed, the physical and the spiritual. There are criminal justice considerations that are in place in physical society, specifically because human beings at times deserve judgement for their actions, and deserve what they get in the way of punishment. That's just one example and there are others.

Hi Baile
Doesn't, what I call, "The Brilliant System" that exists take care of so-called 'deserving' with the
sowing and reaping 'system'?
No judgments...just what goes up must come down...sow on fertile soil you get growth, sow on rocks you don't ...ya know what I mean.
And I think a Brilliant Being set it all up ...but, I don't wanna open some can of worms about some Superior Being existing or not, tho.
Seems there is an auto-pilot switch turned on.
I always get what I deserve ...the good, the bad and the ugly...it is UNcanny!

I'm really saying the same thing Miss Hepburn, the difference I suppose is I imagine the "system" to be nothing more or less than the result of the karmic choices made by the individual soul.

Which is an extension of my general philosophy/view/belief that the eternal soul is solely responsible for all aspects of its evolution. Nothing I do is ever done to me. I choose my life and my life circumstances, and I do it for my soul growth.

Who put it in our heads that life is suppose to be fair? Life is not fair; life lives its own way and not the way we think it is suppose to be. Further, what we call “fair” may be unfair to our greater journey. I have rarely thought that I deserved or did not deserve something, when something happens that I may call “good” or “bad” I look for the deeper lessons in it.

Although there was a time in my youth when I thought life was unfair and I grieved bad things which had happened to me. Grieving is healthy, and each person grieves the displeasures in their life differently, but hanging on to grief for too long can also stifle our spiritual growth. The only question is how long is too long?

People grieve loss and what they feel they did not deserve; they have a grievance with life about what they loss, or did not get. I have done that also, but it is so wonderful to be beyond grieving the things which happened to me in the past. Its’ a journey which people go on at their own pace.

It was only last year that I finally, truly understood, that all of the terrible, awful, unfair things that have happened to me in my life, have contributed greatly to my soul growth and evolution. It was the first time I've ever been able to see those events in that light, and the first time I felt thankful even for the so-called bad stuff.

Thank you for sharing that Baile, it took me a long time as well, mainly because I felt I had some deep wounds, as I have shared here. I had a horrible childhood, was in a war and lost my eyesight, was blind for about 5-years, etc., etc., etc. Now at age-77 I am at peace with myself; although I could have turned out a grumpy old man.

Having experienced lots of disappointment and pain. I came to realize that to each person their problems may seem like the worst, and I considered my stuff to be the worst, the most unfair, which I did not deserve. That is until I started working in the healthcare field and saw people thriving who had worst problems, losses, and unfair things which had happened to them.

It is a blessing that we wake up when we do, because some people by the time they awaken they have done a lot of damage to themselves. I try not to judge because we are all going at our own pace. Lots of people think they are walking a spiritual path but we ourselves are the path which we walk. It is how we have chosen consciously or unconsciously to unfold ourselves, in my opinion, regardless what we have been through in this life.

Peace and Good Journey To You

I was thinking of this thread the other day and realised that I have never thought of what I deserved and what I didn’t deserve. It has just never occurred to me to do that.

I’ve just dealt with what was happening, in the best way I knew how to and just “got on with it”.

Obviously when I was younger and really bad things happened to me I would have “stewed” on things a lot longer and had my “pity party” like everyone else my age, but still it did t occur to me about who is deserving.

However, regarding the Justice System, I’m with Baile on this one!
