The ultimate truth

On another form, a poetry contest was floated requiring free verse in dialogue. Here it is ~

***

“I have five friends; a Christian, a Buddhist, a Sikh, a Hindu and a Muslim. Each speaks of a different God or truth. Who should I believe?”

“Belief? Is that not a mind game? Is not blind faith self-hypnosis? Depending on where we are born, we are taught to follow a this or that religion. Is God so narrow, so selective, so prejudiced to nurture only a select few?”

“What then? How may I know the ultimate truth?”

“Reflect! We are forged from elements of Mother Earth, breathe the same air and the life giving sun shines equally upon all. The labels and meanings assigned by different belief systems evidently point out to a single God or truth.”

“Which religion is valid?”

“All are. The scriptures merely show the path. However, we need to walk upon it ourselves to know the truth. Religion is a crutch. Once we learn to walk, the rituals specified are not only unnecessary, they are in fact, fetters.”

“Why so?”

“We cannot use mind to transcend mind, that’s why.”

“What then do we need to do?”

“End inner conflict. Meld head with heart, in resonance with love, reflected in thought, word and deed, moment to moment, all moments entwined. Make heart pure. Live internally. Invite God's grace.”

“Will not people take advantage us if we are not worldly wise? What is living internally? Do we need to renounce the world?”

“The world is transient. Love alone is real. Everything else is an illusion, a thought construct. No object, be it physical, mental or emotional, can give us happiness in permanence. We must live authentically, standing erect, aligned with voice of God speaking as our conscience. Other than that, we can live vibrantly in the world but free from attachments. Attachment is stagnation and stagnation is death. Flow like the breeze, with nonchalant ease.”

“What practice should we follow then, prayer, meditation, service to others perhaps?”

“All paths are valid but yet none are. It depends upon our orientation. Let the prayer be simply childlike innocence seeking God just as love in love with love seeks love alone. Let this be our priority, not an exercise we do for a few minutes to generate inner tranquility. Likewise meditation, what is it but thought rested stillness, renewed in the time continuum? Let not seeking any power be a part of meditation; the doer must vaporise! Then service, do so as a conduit of God, knowing He is the enabler and we are an instrument. As such, humility is the key. All paths require surrender of identity.”

“This sounds too tame and passive. What about the results? What can we expect and how long does it take?”

“There we go again! Who seeks? Who are we, if we are not this mind-body? What is the source of our aliveness? How are we being breathed?”

“Alright! So God’s energy keeps us alive, enables senses and cognition but unless there are results visible, is this too not another belief to look all goody-goody, another form of self-hypnosis?”

“Ah! The ego identity speaks! Well, when we enter silence, at first, thoughts rise and subside. We do not resist. Simply observe and recognise that the thoughts of foreign origin are appearing in our consciousness but we do not own them. They relate to body, not to us, as soul, as God’s essence. Gradually, with practice, we are able to abide in stillness sans thought. We become empty. With the contaminant of thought removed, inner magnetism is activated, drawing in the divine energy, which goes by many names ~ Chi, Holy Spirit, Kundalini and so on. This energy transmutes our form gradually, that we become what we seek, God’s living light!”

“How do I know what you say is true?”

“Sorry son, you don’t! Seeing God by imbibing the bliss flame is a transformation, just as a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. Believing does not help, we need to become. By letting go of limited and imaginary identity, we become what we always were and are, eternal living light.”

“I get it now. Questions cease when we become the answer, requiring thereafter no translator.”

pendulum sways

between the feral
and the ethereal
lust and love
playoff

soul watches
with bated breath

but the fact there's a game on
signals it's yet work in progress

Free Will

with the will to think or do too borrowed
from the ocean of God consciousness
where remains any residual identity
even in deep depths of delusion

The law of one

The law of one says bow down low,
gentling touch and slowing down gait,
succumbing not to ego's bait,
we rekindle soul's inner glow,
by making heart kind and mellow,
garnering in stillness sedate,
the law of one.

It's high time that we get to know,
God's force is love, so let's not wait,
feeling within, bliss beats gyrate,
melding therein gently follow,
the law of one.

Genesis of delusion

The painter created
With song and verse
A beauteous universe
Where joy never abated

To feel fully each nuance
By soul's choiceless choice
Divine aligned with God's voice
He plunged himself in deep trance

Bewildered by illusions, hypnotised
He began to believe real his mind
Ego urges spewed acts unkind
Objects weighed and sized

Head and heart in conflict
Plunged him into sorrow
Fearful of the morrow
He bled, time ticked

The game

the Absolute within
enmeshed in limitation
bows to the Absolute infinite
that reflections manifest
delight the Absolute

who is One

Simple Simon says

The fact that we ensoul this body-mind
presupposes bondage to feeble form,
thus senses five, gender and habits bind,
self-blocking the flow of bliss currents warm.

Fear of freedom keeps us bound in a cage
of conditioning imposed by belief,
veiling the clear truth that this world's a stage,
where cessation alone grants us relief.

With thought flow slow, fears and desires recede,
revealing we're soul, here for a sojourn
and with this recognition, we gain speed
melding with God's light, in this body urn.

No sooner we step out of our soul’s way,
divine love and light becomes our mainstay.

Explanations of the Atheist, the analyst and the scientist suit me to a certain extent, but 'Word' itself, is a labrynth, a maze in which one can get lost. It is a net, 'shabda-jaala', 'Word-net'. Do not get entangled in it. Once you get in, there is no escape. KISS. No 'Word', no God, no soul. See what our dear member, Unseeking Seeker was able to do with just the 'Word'! Wrote beautiful poetry, sent some people on a 'spiritual journey'. :)

Let go of to get to

Beliefs are conjured by mind
Vicarious knowing
On choosing to exit its bind
We keep flowing

Sans thought, identity recedes
Yet awareness self aware is
Power of Holy Spirit then leads
Throbbing within as bliss

From noumena rose phenomena
The first impulse Ohm
Deep stillness resolves this enigma
The vast void our home

No ism may bridge the duality chasm
Yet silence sets us free
Bliss beats throb in mind-body prism
When head and heart agree

How may the unseen truth be described
We each must feel it alone
Have ye not as yet bliss thunder imbibed
How then may this be shown

Yes, I have imbibed it. At first, it seems to be bliss; but than one realizes that bliss and sorrow are just feelings. This can be shown to those who can abandon prejudices.
