Dislike
Something I came across. It found me, I find it resonates with me. I think what the guy lacks to say is that you're pretty much letting go of ego or at least starting to. 4:24min https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIJG...=AwakenInsight

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

For those into improving themselves, I think a useful comment was when he said that 'we should be watchful of our behaviour and if someone criticises us, it may be worth reflecting on it to see if there perhaps is something we may need to address in our behaviour.'
Certainly I might consider this depending on who is saying it (e.g. if their values are similar to mine) and most certainly if the same criticism is mentioned by more than one person....could be a wake up call!
The more grounded we are then, of course, it follows, that the less importance we give to the opinion others may have of ourselves. To be a people pleaser indicates having low self esteem which, itself, is very common and rife! Thenagain, there is more letting go that comes with age - for some it entails more freedom to be themselves!
However, it's worth also realising that not caring what others think of us could be a symptom of depression e.g. if accompanied by other symptoms.
