What type of building was it on? A church, a hall of some type? That might help narrow it down...

I actually didn't want to say that it was on top of a doorway.... I actually just wanted an objective information on what this symbol means...

But if you must know, it's just above a simple small home/room.

The symbols location doesn't seem to matter or indicate anything about the symbol.

I don't recognize it mentally but my intuition told me that it is rather negative and is related to a magical rite.

I don't see any imaginable resemblance between my pic and the one you posted...

Also, could it simply be a letter in Arabic or something like that?

It baffles me as to weather this symbol has any meaning...

It's a detail of a larger image. Is the entire image available somewhere?

All by itself, it kind of looks like a representation of a person playing with a ball, or holding up the earth. But it can mean anything, being a small part of a larger image.
