To her it was relief as her foot was being eaten away by infection.

...And indeed one tries..... I often say...even the powers that "be" ....in the universe must be scratching their heads in puzzlement, and saying to each other... ""How we get HER on board.... Why didn't someone chuck her back ? ""..... LOL....

...A true story.... About 15 years ago, I worked as a checkout supervisor at a trade warehouse. One day, my manager was huffing and puffing under his breathe on one of the checkouts, trying to get a large security tag off a man's shoe . He was the manager of menswear, but he was getting more and more worked up... Beside him , was what I took to be a "mannequin leg" for display purposes. In the end I said.. " look.. why don't you go for lunch, and when I get chance I'll have a go at it?"....."I can't do that , it's for him... I got to get this tag off".... "Him" being a customer ,with a false leg that needed to know the shoe fit, as well as the other shoe in his real foot. So naturally I helped , we got the tag off, fitted the shoe, then he handed me the "leg" and said .... "You deal with it.. I can't cope!! "".... So I went and found the elderly customer , sat on a stool. I was very polite, and full of apologies and explanation of why it had taken so long. He was not happy to say the least. He appeared full of bitterness .. not aimed at me personally, but in general about his situation. If he said it once, he said it a dozen times.. "I don't think YOU PEOPLE understand"".. and my heart went out to him...after spending 20 or so minutes with him, trying on the shoes, him "trying them out ".. and him eventually being happy ...I said to him.... "" Ok... So we got that sorted.. now then, it's my lunchbreak... We have a very nice coffee shop with an extensive menu.... Would you have time to join me for lunch, on the house ?""..... This made his day. But he had to decline the offer... When we walked to the checkout together he was laughing and joking like we'd known each other forever.. and was thrilled when I told the checkout operator to knock 25% off his purchase. ( Not because I felt sorry for him, but because I felt his frustration).... I'll always remember that ...

Your feet is what holds us up.

If our feet are 'bad', it can affect our whole body.

I can sympathize with your feet. When I busted my right foot and it was 60 degrees to the right: it hurt.
Not that day but the next day when the swelling started to go down, they operated on my foot. I remember seeing the surgeon drilling into my foot and then he motioned to the Anesthesiologist and then to me ..... and that is all I remember.

That foot has been fused twice. Some of the screws were removed so I guess you could say that foot has been operated on 3 times.
