This parable . . . and so many other pursuits on that Path . . . can be better understood if you realize that we each do not see things as they are . . . we see things as WE are . . . as our own viewpoints dictate.
Try to stay flexible and broad. Let more work FOR you than against you.
Have you ever considered Occam’s Razor? In essence . . . there is more validity in the more simple explanation.
When anyone begins down the path of a more rigid, pompous, superior, judgmental attitude . . . such as davidsun . . . it becoFor others, especially those who feel they have discovered truthmes very clear how narrow and strict their viewpoint . . . how predictable they are . . . and how insistent they become in demanding that they are considered superior in all viewpoints.[/QUOTE}
The Parable may resonate for some, especially those who have found themselves in the Truth Trap. It will not resonate at all for those who are convinced they have discovered truth. That may change if they are confronted by a revelation that contradicts their so called truth and as a result end up in the Truth Trap themselves. Like the passenger in the parable, this is very difficult for them and a crisis of faith may occur, but more usually there is denial of the new revelation, like the dispute between religion and evolution, because the insecurity of accepting it is so great.
