Hi green1, Well, from my exp...and I mean from past life 'scenes' that have been shown to me with emotion...

He has it all perfectly as it 'should' be.

Yes, we move forward because of the mind. Don't forget the mind was created (by Spirit). In fact the mind was created to move forward. We become aware and move through that. The question is who moves forward as consciousness. We are spirit (soul).
