Sri Ramakrishna the Great Master

From Sadhana and Divine Inebriation: https://www.ramakrishnavivekananda.i...Master-19.html

Although in the world, he was not of it. The external world was now transformed for him into a dream world.
Now he could not attribute reality to it in spite of efforts.

For newbies to this: Definition of sadhana

1. Hindu religious training or discipline through which an individual attains samadhi.
2. Sādhanā is a generic term coming from the yogic tradition that refers to any spiritual exercise that
is aimed at progressing the sadhaka towards the very ultimate expression of his or her life in this reality.
.....
Now that leads to what is sadhaka?
Sadhaka is a Sanskrit term which describes someone who follows a certain sadhana, a spiritual practice or way of life, with the aim of achieving a certain goal.
The term can be translated as meaning "spiritually adept."

Might as well---What is samadhi?
1. a state of intense concentration achieved through meditation.
In Hindu yoga this is regarded as the final stage, at which union with the divine is reached (before or at death).

I love all info in Ramakrishna!!!!!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Samadhi - a simple word but there may be various types of samadhi. These are defined in different ways by different traditions - for example:
  1. Level 1: Savikalpa Samadhi (which has four stages):
    • Stage 1. Sarvitarka Samadhi:
    • Stage 2. Savichara Samadhi:
    • Stage 3. Sa-ananda Samadhi:
    • Stage 4. Sa-Asmita Samadhi:
  2. Level 2: Nirvikalpa Samadhi.
  3. Level 3: Dharmamegha Samadhi.
Others such as Ramana Maharshi also talk about Sahaja Samadhi, which is where the inner silence is maintained along with normal daily activities. It is being able to maintain the experience of Nirvakalpa Samadhi at all times.

For more explanation of these stages see https://chopra.com/articles/the-3-levels-of-samadhi

Peace
