i haven't talked about much
over the years
is the blue girl
mikey of life cereal fame...

the mikey commercials
have been around
since my childhood
although relatively recently
they feature a girl instead of a boy...

I met her in a different context
than virtually everyone else...
different city
different state
different venue
when I met her there was an obvious difference in tone to life
literally the day she came,
aeroplanes shifted out of the sound pattern
and birds shifted in.
The day she left,
the birds shifted out
the aeroplanes shifted in.
I didn't think about it at the time
as much as I did other similar signs
but that summer was obvious in a variety of ways
that one being that
the realities of stronger people
can take precedence over
the realities of weaker ones.
in a very physical way.
I've wondered sometimes
over the years,
if some people who aren't so strong
don't spend a lot of time
navigating in and out of the realities
of those
who appear
in front of them...
and also wondered
what a life like that would be like?
well that summer gave me the barest of tastes...

mikey is important
because
she actually let me near her
a few times
in randomly awful lifetimes like this.
now though between
me obnoxiously wanting things
of her
and me being tired of
the vulcan affect
which she inspires of course
it never seemed too likely
to me
we would get together...
although sometimes I feel like
it could be ok
and I could do more time in logic land
- after all i owe her an awful lot
if i could quit hassling her
to be what she is not sigh.

Anyway looking at it now,
she's been probably
the most constant person
what with the mikey commercials from a young age
and meeting her
in a context
different from everyone else
then hearing of her over the years in dreams.

She was always sleeping
when I dreamt of her
not the nighttime sleep
but the sleepwalking through life
we all do sometimes...
actually thinking about it
she seemed like
it was hard to keep her eyes open.
although I think in the last dream I had of her
that also featured her dad
she was more awake.
Which jives
with what the spirits have said for a while
that about now she would be waking up
a little...

has been welcome too...
not that she is the only one with commercials
sigh....
