Interesting what kids believed.
I believed there where monsters
under my bed.
I think that my foster 'sister'

wanted me to believe that.

A few I remember from being very young, around 3-6 years old. We had an old white bakelite radio that had dials on the front and a 'vent' for the speaker in the middle. When it was turned on you could see the light from the vacuum tubes inside through the slits. So 3 year old me thought that there were tiny people inside the radio playing songs, lol. The second one was my dad making the comment about how warm the day was and that Spring was right around the corner. So I got on my tricycle and peddled to the end of the block to find Spring! And finally, I used to watch the old Tarzan movies that came on Saturday afternoons with my dad. And every morning when I woke up I would roll over on my tummy and scooch over the bed so I could make sure that there were no alligators under my bed before putting my feet on the floor.

I believed there was a real curtain made of iron some where in Europe. That people on the opposite side of the earth spoke backwards. You could split atoms with a sharp knife. Or smash them with a big hammer. ( mid 60s)

but as I child
the concept
of God
was foreign to me

I just didn't know what to do with it.
