I think there's always a lesson to be learned through everything. We may not like things happening around us, but each thing that happens has something to teach us and to help us grow as a person. We just have to listen.

Even divine beings suffer, the smaller they are, the more susceptible to suffering. Didn't Christ suffer when he entered the contaminated petri dish?

Another thing to add to the conversation ...I'd say, they see a bigger picture.
A simple human can see a bigger picture, also.

When you 'get' what this place is, what your Journey is about or even 'may' be about...it changes a lot!
You hit your thumb with a hammer and fall off the ladder and laugh instead of freak out.
You may get robbed and shrug your shoulders instead of 'freak out'...
cuz you 'get it'.
How? And what do you 'get'? Too many things and understandings to mention here.

Not my first rodeo ...next thing will be someone will say,'' Yeah, and the child being beaten is laughing, I suppose."
No, not now...but may look back with Divine Insight one day and see why all of these things have happened....and not some
Zen Master or Christ or Guru ...an everyday person.

What Miss Hepburn has said is correct. a point in fact is
My friends husband has just lost his dad a couple of days ago when he was younger he had a hard time with his dad. he was a drinker.
he and his siblings all had a hard time.
HE feels guilty because his dad has passed.
he is thinking now that his dad was teaching him a lesson.
Because he wasn't such a good husband to my friend either I confronted him a few times.
But the last couple of days his dad has come through to me to apologise on his behalf on how he treated his kids.
Now he can see the big picture here he couldn't

How can angels just watch people suffering the most horrible ways?
As far as I'm understaning angels, angels are not gods and angels are not almighty.

We humans tend to think of them as gods or demigods and their not. Treating them as gods, at least in Christian religion, is idolatry.

Bible says angels have their functions towards humans but it is not clear to what extent they can interfere in human business. And what is their actual power.

Bible says that angels decided to stay with God while demons deserted God. This means that angels do God's bidding, not ours.

Human evilness is not God's fault, it's an outcome of our free will. We are the bad guys whenever we start wars or we bully a poor kid.

We turn a beautiful garden into a dump. God or His angels are not to blame.

[quote=Syringa]

All the spiritual experiences I've had have been just imagination. [/QUOTE.

There, tucked among the bales of making up the haystack is the pearl.

I was a war child. For many years my family and all other families too spent many evenings under dining room tables (our only shelter) as bombs and rockets dropped their loads over our city. These memories have accompanied me through all my life. Destruction, fire, blood, death. And the aftermath, the photo's of thousands of jewish families lined up on platforms waiting for the gas chambers and everyone of them praying for a miracle - all for nothing.
Then came Hiroshima, Korea, Vietnam and all the other atrocities reeked upon harmless loving people who prayed to be saved but were turned into dust instead. All for nothing.
Were I 'God' I'd have held out my loving arms to everyone before blood dirtied my hands.
Pretending we are all in this 'to learn' is a laughable excuse for terror.

Its not an excuse for terror.... its what we may sometimes find out during our healing process. If you have another conclusion, then that is another path than mine currently.

Kind regards,

if you are into the one true thing being learning, it may interest you to know, that in my opionion, the one thing we completely refuse to learn, despite being warned again and again and having hints made galore, is that whatever we think is 'best', well, just isn't of as much import as we want to take it.
