Time appears in consciousness

While meditating I had a realization, one really interesting.

Suddenly I realized that time appears in my consciousness and this is all there is to it, we are not its slaves, time itself is born out of our consciousness. The sense of time can be turned off. And this made me realize something further, there is no tomorrow.

I was looking at the next day and there was no next day, there was nothing, just me, I was the next day itself for I was all there is, next day, previous day, I was all of it.

I really mean it, I looked for the next day and there no sense of being a next day, and I looked closely at what really is and all I could see was me, consciousness.

For example, you know there's a tomorrow, you maybe even know or anticipate what you are going to do tomorrow. In your mind it appears as a fact but in that moment for me there was no tomorrow.

Fascinating, and let me tell you that when the sense of time is turn off you will experience what it really means to be truly alive for you will be life itself pulsating ( we already are ), coming by itself through itself in existence, you are the Father and the Son who is beggetted by the Father, you are giving birth to yourself "endlessly" by yourself and through yourself.

Love it, ThatMan.
I think this is still on topic.
Well, while I was meditating, while fasting, ha, c 1973.
It came to me suddenly and sweetly like a mist rolling in :
Time is God's foreplay.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Indeed, yesterday and tomorrow are just thoughts arising now in consciousness. And this idea of time appearing in consciousness also applies to space.

Wherever we go there is just the physical environment arising in consciousness. The appearance of this environment changes but consciousness is simply present.

So it doesn't matter where I go, there I simply am.

Peace

A wonderful recognition indeed!

@Miss Hepburn That's really really beautiful! Love it!

@iamthat Thank you for also pointing that! You know, I knew all of this, that all things arise in consciousness but I lacked the inner realization, experiencing what I already knew mentally. Have you too had realizations like these?

@Unseeking Seeker Thank you! Things like these always come at the least expected moment.

Once again I had this realization, once again time itself was no more, tomorrow was no more and once again I really looked for tomorrow but it was not there, just me, consciousness.

That is the nature of realisations. The word realisation conveys the idea of something being made real. Something which had previously been just a mental concept suddenly becomes a known reality.

And how do we experience time? Simply as the interval between two events in consciousness. As you say, it all arises in consciousness, but in consciousness itself there is no time, just duration of awareness within which events arise.

I have had similar realisations, particularly regarding space. Which may be why I have never felt the spiritual need to go to India, despite having a deep affinity with the country. What might I find there? Just consciousness containing the appearance of different scenery and people. Wherever I go there is just myself present as consciousness, so I may as well stay home.

Peace

That is well said and these realizations are like open doors into the nature of Self, once you open them you can go back more and more and enter through those doors into the deeper nature of Self. I do that almost every time I meditate, to bring back more and share it here.

Yes, there's no time, I know well for I looked for time and it was not there, just me. It's like meeting a very very old friend, ancient, your most intimate friend, your own Self.

Interesting, so you probably have seen my posts about the spaceless space, the boundless space and things like that. Well, these were rare experiences for me but now almost every time I meditate I enter the spaceless space but I've learnt there are deeper "levels", it depends on how far you go within yourself, how deeply you rest in awareness.

I get you with, and I do understand "just myself present as consciousness", is not bliss or at least a taste of bliss?

A short conversation that took place in an instant when I realized that there's no time, just me:

Self: Ohh... Hello mate, nice to meet you!!
Human perspective: WOW! WOW! It's me, it has always been me!!! and that huge smile stayed on my face even though I was not literally smiling..

Yes, during the day I often pause and close my eyes and there is just a large space of stillness in the heart area.

Resting in that space there is an inner smile of peace and contentment and quiet joy. It rises from within in every moment.

Nothing external is necessary.

Peace
