The name is not connected to the references discussed above.

I agree with Inavalan - Seth named himself, because Robert wanted to know his name. But they originally started channeling someone else who they contacted on a oujai board, and then Seth came through that - and said that person was one of his "past lives". While Jane was channeling Seth over the years, Seth mentioned he had a dog "personality" who was alive at the time, but then that dog passed away.
Seth said only we need names, he didn't need one, but because they had to call him something, he chose Seth. But he said we are all Nameless. I wish I could quote you the passage that went along with it, it is quite remarkable. He was, and still is, quite remarkable, no matter what you want to call him. He doesn't care. None of them care. Abraham is famous for saying they don't care. "It is wonderful that you love us, but we don't care. But we care that you love, no matter what you are loving."
