A question about guardianship

Yesterday I was given healing by two lovely mediums who visited my house. Afterwards we had a very interesting conversation. My late grandmother was present and she told one of the mediums that when she was alive she had the knowledge and that I have it too. I've always known this. A curious question came up though. The same medium told me that I had been chosen to live in this house in order to look after it. A group of people in spirit, who were not my family members, arranged for me to live here. Each time I've tried to leave I've been prevented from doing so. I've lived here now for forty four years. I've tried to move on but always something seems to block me. I understood when I came here it was for a purpose. I picked that up clairvoyantly, but I've never told anyone else or questioned it. Now I'm wondering why people in spirit would want this. It seems highly unlikely but if it is true I'm wondering if the spirit people are very unhappy and maybe stuck between two worlds. Is there anything I can do to help them? I have been trying to develop as a medium and have made some progress but due to covid all the development circles have closed. Can anyone comment please? I'd love to know your thoughts.
