Good News!

Seriously - this is the topic for good news.

If you are anything like me, you dread keeping up with the world through the standard media channels. There's no news like bad news, it seems.

For starters, anyone else familiar with this site...

I take it this thread is for good news................I have some!

My daughter told us that she is pregnant a couple of days ago. This is her/their first child and our second grandchild. She just got married at the end of September!

Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims join pope, urge peace

Benedict welcomed some 300 leaders representing a rainbow of faiths to the hilltop Italian town of Assisi to commemorate the 25th anniversary of a daylong prayer for peace here called by Pope John Paul II in 1986 amid Cold War conflicts.

Nice..........very nice! The new Pope's outlook is a welcome change. I didn't know that he was forced as a kid to join the Hitler youth!
I'm sure his personal experiences have helped mold him into the more open minded pope he is. Much more so than the one mentioned in the article from 1986 who boycotted such meetings.
Great news indeed!
