Angel1 Random or not so random acts of kindness

Did you ever receive some kindness from a stranger or someone you knew that moved you really deeply? What was it for you?

Yesterday this man came to my mind. I was in some activist organisation years ago and I was stopping people on the street and I was basically just talking with them about the organisation and if they want to join or help in some way. I stopped a man that was really old, I think he said he is 92. I looked into his eyes and I felt this instant deep connection with him. I felt like he is an old friend and like I know him for ages. His eyes were vibrant, young and sparkling like he was 20-years old. We chatted for quite some time and it was so pleasant. Then we said goodbye and he went to the store that was near by and I stopped another person. I had some kind of folder in my hands and while I was chatting with this other person he came back from the store and I didn't even see him very well but he put a chocolate on my folder and didn't say a thing and just went down the street. I wanted to say something but I was in a conversation with this other person and I just keep talking but then this person left and I turned around to see that man and I could see his body in the distance and his body didn't seem strong and his walk was not perfect but he just had this amazing energy of grace. I mean that guy figured it out. He just seemed so at peace with life. I can't forget his deep blue eyes. Maybe he was an old friend or he was just so aligned that everyone had this feeling around him. I don't know, but he just moved something inside of me. Of course it wasn't the chocolate, the chocolate was just a symbol, it was his soul/light that moved me.

That's so nice, Ilovecats...

I get totally overwhelmed (in a good way over) any random act of kindness given toward me. Even just a smile or kind words. I get teary eyed and just so grateful and appreciative. :-)

I just love people like that Ilovecats. Know and met a few in my lifetime. I love that connection we feel.

I try to often do random acts of kindness but it's nothing something I say I'm going to do x, y and z today. It just happens. Like one day an elderly woman was ahead of me and her credit card would not accept payment for her food. I told the cashier I will get it. The elderly woman seemed almost mad but she was embarrassed. I said it's okay. I've had that happen. The cashier looked at me like I was nuts. The woman waited outside in the parking lot and asked for my name and address. I wouldn't give it to her. She wanted to pay me back. I said no need. She said why would you do that though? I said "Why not?" She started to cry and said no one ever has done anything like this before for me". I said now someone has. I smiled and wished her a happy day and went to my car.

I've got other stories like that, but I've got to get ready and go back to work.

That is sooo beautiful Sarian

I so love kind people. It makes my heart warm when I see kindness or when I am kind. This things also come for me in spontaneous ways. I believe we are all kind deep down in our souls

I currently can't remember most of them right now, but recently a lady in front of me paid for my rather large coffee/tea order for no particular reason. c:

Sometimes a mere compliment (out in public) can be overwhelmingly lovely--rather than anxiety-inducing-- when it comes from certain people, not sure why! For St.Patrick's day I went to a pub and the hostess lady with long silvery-white hair took me aside and complimented my hair, told me I was pretty and smiled so warmly at me, and said that she could tell I was a "lovely, sweet girl," and she seemed so genuine. Then a few minutes later she was gone!

And once I was on a Greyhound bus to Arkansas and a lady behind me handed me a granola bar out of the blue. She said, "You need to eat, honey." And she was right, I did! It was such a small thing, but it was nice. c:
