So very lovely to see you out of hospital and back home. It was good that you were able to get into the military hospital and looked after. Good that you got your vaccine too. It will take time to heal properly... You will still be very weak and tired, and rest, rest and more rest..... But so good to see you. We were all really worried.... Take care.

I ended up going to the hospital Saturday, it got very intense. Symptoms from this virus are generally more severe in older people than they are in younger people. Most older folks already have a compromised immune system before the virus; as I have because of diabetes which I got from Agent Orange in Vietnam. This virus does effect all of your senses, especially taste and smell, it also kills your appetite. But I am much better now and they gave me the vaccine right before discharging me today. I feel about 90% better.

Love is the greatest thing any of us have, and that love is with us regardless what we go through, and even when we do not feel it. But to open our heart and feel it. It can heal us. At our core, we are love. I am humbled by the kindness and compassion all of you have shown me. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes, I felt them. God bless you all.

that is the best news I have heard in a while!

Looks like you may have gotten an infusion and then got the vaccine.

So nice to hear you are back, some of us were deeply worried.

Well BigJohn, 90% may have been and exaggeration, like Elfin said, I still feel the need for rest. I got home ate something, posted my previous post here, sent some e-mails, and then crashed out in my own bed and slept for 5-hours. I slept a lot at the hospital also.

When I say 90%, I think I may be referring to a 90% decrease in aches and pains that have been substantially reduced. My strength on the other hand is slowly returning. I received excellent care. Especially when able to receive remdesivir, which is not given to all covid infected persons’. I think Trump may have received it at Walter Reed Military Hospital in Maryland.

The nurses and doctors were getting the vaccine when I was getting discharged, so I asked if I could get it also. They checked and approved my receiving it. I don’t think it was initially planned. They were only giving the vaccine to veterans in Veteran Care Homes, and vaccinating their medical staff. High risk veterans were in the next group.

I have got to go back in 3-weeks and get a second shot, must quarantine for 14-days, but I am hopeful after that maybe I can join the California Health Corp and help out as the civilian hospitals are short on staff, and I do have some distant medical experience, and already got the vaccine. Although, I will still wear a mask and social distance.

It's just so brilliant to see you.... I know exactly what you mean by feeling 90% better , with regard to the pain... The pain fore was terribly excruciating... Once they managed to get that under control I felt so much better, even though I was seriously ill...I was in for 2 weeks.... And when I came out , I adopted the same "routine" as I had in hospital for a week or 2.... I made out I was still there.... Sat in bed resting, and sleeping lots... Having medication at same time, eating small meals at same time. And even now , after 3 months ( since I got poorly) I can do very little.... Rest and sleep , the best thing for you.... Ate you able to get food/medicines etc...?.. Do you have people around you to help out ? And don't tire yourself out answering all my questions...!!!

Hi Elfin, I just now ordered about $150.00 in groceries online and it will be delivered tomorrow. We have a number of stores here in the U.S. that will deliver groceries for free or a small fee, $3.50. I was given pain meds and anti-inflammatory meds to take home. My doc will be doing telephone appointments with me, and the Veterans Medical Center that I normally use will mail me refills on my meds if I need them. Thank you for your concern and compassion.

That I only spent 2-nights in the hospital, you folks in UK don’t say “the” hospital, anyway, I think they are getting better at treating infected people. Plus I went in early, only after two weeks of pronounced symptoms. Some people don’t go to hospital for a month or so after having symptoms. Usually the longer a person waits to get medical care, after having pronounced symptoms, the harder the recovery and longer the hospital time.

BigJohn, my dear friend, all of us can pay it forward. Help out, especially after we get the vaccine like I have. If I can inspire others to get the vaccine when it is offered, and then go help out in their local community, then me getting infected by covid had a silver lining. You do not need to imitate me. You are a spiritual light shinning brightly here on this forum in your own right.

People are scared, I recognize that, especially now that there is a new strain of covid, and we who have spiritual pursuits, can be of great use. Not to convert others to our way of seeing things, but just to share our own spiritual presence with others. One of the most profound things I did in the past was to just sit with someone in silence, who was suffering. Quiet inside, and allow that healing presence from within you to touch them. We can all do that. You don’t need words, although words can also comfort.

Your words brought up memories of a 'softer' me who would sit with the sick. They enjoyed it more then I did. There eyes would be beaming when I was present and I could see in their eyes when I had to leave, but they knew.......

Touching in with others is good for both souls.
