May I say - the biggest advocate of TM is David Lynch if you care to google his youtubes.
In the USA he is a famous TV and movie Director/Writer.
I never got he was promoting TM - but meditation itself and the wisdom
his teacher spoke.
Also the man that has done 600 interviews online, all available, mentions his YEARS with TM ...
'Buddha At The GasPump' is his program on youtube.
Hope this helps a bit.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

Hi Munesh
Is there anything you particularly want to know about TM?
Peace

I learned TM as a teenager. It was my first time meditating, so I didn't have anything else to compare with at the time.
It worked well for me, I got some deep experiences. In hindsight, it was a perfectly good mantra meditation, but expensive as I could have learned it elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. I can't see how it's different to other eastern mantra techniques really. But you're paying for a lifetime of meditation checks from a TM teacher, so if you're willing to commit upfront and remain within the TM organisation then I suppose it works out reasonable value. But I soon moved on and diversified my meditation so not such good value for me. However, as I was under 18 when I learned it I paid a reduced price.
My other reflection on TM was that I was only taught one technique; other schools like Buddhism gave me a variety of techniques within the same group, which can be tailored to the individual's circumstances. In that respect, TM seems a bit formulaic, one-size-fits-all. I appreciate there's different mantras but they're assigned according to only your age, or were at the time I learned.

This is confirmed by a friend who used to be a TM teacher. TM gives the impression that each person gets a mantra which is appropriate for them, but in fact there is a limited range of mantras which are given. There are books on TM which list the various mantras.
TM is a good introduction to meditation. TM is simple, and doing 20 minutes morning and evening is not too demanding for most people. I know various people who started with TM, and they really enjoyed it. But they seemed to reach a plateau, and they have all since moved on to different meditation systems.
Peace

When various people started with TM and they also enjoyed then what were the reasons to move on to different techniques.
