If we put our mind and effort into the task we may become many things.

We could become an artist, a nurse, a doctor, a plumber or a truck driver. They are all skills that can be taught in school, college or using a hands-on approach.

Becoming a medium is different. It's not something you can be taught in ways similar to the examples above. It's often said that mediums are born and not made. What that means is unless you have the latent attributes you won't ever become a medium.

Even if you do have the necessary attributes it may still be a long journey. My friend is a natural medium but his attributes came to the fore only when he was a mature 30 year old adult. For others it will be different but it might be argued that until one has some experience of life then one's mediumship may not achieve its full potential.

It's a common misunderstanding that psychic awareness/sensitivity is the same as mediumship. That's understandable when the term 'psychic medium' is widely used in certain parts of the world. Again there's an old saying that goes "A medium is psychic but a psychic isn't necessarily a medium." You can't alter that adage - it reflects the real deal.

One can, however, learn how to become a more effective medium. Mediumship is all about delivering a service to others and in doing that one may learn better ways of getting there. Whether your mediumship is healing, clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, claircogniscance or whatever word best describes what you do in the service of the spirit, there are always improvements you might make in delivering it. But that's not becoming a medium.

You may have the gift of psychic sensitivity/awareness but would like to develop it so you're able to do what a medium does, namely providing persuasive evidence of someone's survival and often also offer healing help. If you are such an individual there are ways to achieve what you'd like. It's up to you.....

In posting #9 you actually wrote this: "I would say that if you have the natural talent, it's easy. If you don't, not so easy. I certainly don't have the natural talent, but I've been visited by pets and my brother who have passed and I was able to sense their presence but I don't have spirits coming to me asking for help."

Well, what I am saying is I am not a medium. The last part of the sentence pretty much says I'm not a medium.

If we look at what you actually wrote in the last part of your sentence: "....I was able to sense their presence but I don't have spirits coming to me asking for help." it had given me the impression you were implying that a medium would have them coming asking for help.

I respond to what people have actually written - call me old-fashioned. blessings

When the Fox Mother and sisters became rapping Mediums and then others became rapping Mediums, did all of those people have the latent attributes?
