These ideas have been around for a long time, and they have always attracted a following. Which means that we now have so many choices. So much to explore, so little time!

Whatever feeds our egos is bad (TV, some people), since egos emit dark energy that lowers vibrations and is destructive.
Think ego as opposite to love.

Hi there,

Is it maybe that new age spirituality is considered 'bad' because is disregards or put's aside on a great extend the body...... for I would say something 'in the air' ? thoughtforms of good and ..bad to na me one ?

For me Spirituality is a path.
There are many paths. I don't consider it the one and only, let's say path.

Thanks

For my guess of the title of the thread: My guess is that for those who don't believe it is rubbish and flips the mind, and those who are dedicated to a specific religion may see it as something that don't agree with their values maybe, at least not all the way? I think some spontaneously link it with the wild 70's, flower power and drugs maybe? Overall they could go Oh that is different there for it is strange and therefor it is out (fear of the unknown)

I always felt a "teacher" may be useful as guidance, NOT the final thought, that should be up to you. Especially when it comes to the spiritual. I know I have my own thoughts and opinions on being spiritual. My own personal experiences and environment influence everything I do. I believe spirituality is very personalized.
Another thought on teacher's, most will only teach you what they think is important to them. That may not be important to you and your own personal journey. For me personally, everything is my teacher. Everything from the Devil, a ship of fool's, to the insects, and other beast, to people, geniuses, and the most holy of God's. They all are there to learn from.

Oh dear. Your ego is the up-front 'you' - your interface with others and your environment. It distinguishes you from everyone else. In most ways it's your persona.
Without an ego, you'd be unidentifiable.

If you believe an ego, (the 'I'-ness of you) is destructive then you've been seriously misled.

The ego or self-identity has a place in the physical world where the body dwells. The self moves in time and space using the hands and feet of the body.

Life is more than living in the physical world which is essential but limited. The ego or self cannot soar. It is like a flightless bird. A chicken such as a Sussex.

Perhaps, this is why new age spirituality is thought of as bad. The primacy of the self. The cult of personality.
