Thank you for not buying weapons from France!

I'm watching the news, and the french government is super upset about the Australian submarines deal that has been cancelled!

As a French, I'm actually very happy. I mean ... France needs to find other businesses than weapons dealing! (If it ever needs to "make money" or live in comfort).

So I'm grateful that this happens! I'm just a bit concerned that the country closes itself, I would find it a bit sad, but hey, it's time to look inward!

EDIT: I need to say that I also have compassion for the countries that need to sell/buy weapons or anything coming from hell to survive!

It would be nice if we lived in a world that didn't need weapons, but the way I see this is, let's say a theif wants your stuff, but knows you have a 40 cal and 9mm . Then the theif values their life over your stuff.

Precisely, in order to be "protected", the thief needs to know you carry weapons with you, so you need to act in a threatening way or "alerting way", in a different way than the other people.

So, because you carry a gun, the thief will notice you.
Because the thief noticed you, you noticed him.

Then it's between you and him, none of our business.

The guns eventually get so big that if you fire it kills you as well, and a bunch of other folks who had nothing too do with it. It starts with knives, swords and maces and ends with nuclear holocaust. Pointless, really.

It means you would kill a guy over some stuff you think is yours.

Oh yea, and a guy whom was apparently pretty smart once said you can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created.
