Hi Lucky, I haven't 'seen' you in awhile. What a fun experience. I never did make it to the Mardi Gras when I lived in Texas (a short jump away). I hope you have a blast.

Brats, air fried potatoes, and some raw broccoli with ranch dressing/dip.

Just curious, does it include some leafy stuff and something like mayonnaise with some habanero sauce mixed into it?

No leafy greens last night, for some reason, this time of year, it all turns to slim in the veggie drawer. *shrugs

Yes, there was a mayonnaise concoction, but no habanero. Hmm,.. sounds delicious, maybe next time.

Well......its not all fun....my wife who is verrry Catholic wants to go to mass at the old Saint Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter before getting into the craziness of Mardi Gras.

And while going to Catholic Mass doesn't really appeal to me I do think seeing this historic Cathedral built in 1793 is something the boy's need to do as it gives them some history and perspective ....and I'm all about educating them in that way

Here is what I do to extend the fridge life of lettuce. We use only leaf lettuce. I bring it home, fill the sink with cold water and soak the lettuce for an hour or two. You will notice it spreading out.

Then I put it in one of those lettuce keepers and/or one of those green vegetable bags. My lettuce can last 2-3 weeks. We just went to the store today and got 3 heads of leaf lettuce. They are soaked and in the containers. I seldom end up with rotten lettuce before we eat it all up.

I'm having split pea soup and a green salad, hubby is having an Asian burger with Asian slaw and a green salad.

Lucky, I bet the cathedral is going to be a experience not to be forgotten.

Deb, Thank you for the great suggestion! I will try it. Tomorrow we travel for groceries!

We got to eat out for supper. It was a nice break. I got to have salmon and apple pie!
