I recently wrote one of the following four words: "spring", "summer", "autumn" and "winter" in one of my computer files, and I highlighted it (in yellow).

I ask you to tell me which of these four words I wrote.

The word was selected by means of this random number generator: https://www.random.org/integers/ , all four words have equal probabilities.

The word I wrote and highlighted was "spring".

Therefore, Aldous' answer above (the first answer given) was correct (note also his interesting comment).

The hit rate of this test is equal to 50%, significantly more than the chance level of 25% .

This result alone isn't sufficient to prove telepathy, but telepathy can be proved if results like this are repeated many times.
