General Surorov mentions how fasting is the best medicine, in that you clear the stomach of fermenting and undigested food, so as to promote healing and regeneration. He also mentions to fast during fevers and illnesses, sometimes for a week or longer. Given how cancer cells survive off blood sugar, not oxygen, fasting does make sense. Thank you for your interest.
Also, be aware of nutrition, like vitamins and minerals, because you don't want a nutritional deficiency to grow worse. However, if you are overweight, and your illness is caused by bacterial or virus, or cancer, not nutritional deficiency, then fasting is a great option.
